Did you know some mutts are actually considered designer dogs. A designer dog is a cross between two pure breed dogs. For example, a Cockapoo is the mixture of a Cocker Spaniel with a Poodle.

Hanukkah and Thanksgiving Books On Display!

This year Hanukkah and Thanksgiving overlap! This hasn't happened since 1888 and may not happen again for another 77,798 years! 

In honor of both celebrations, we are currently displaying both of these special holiday collections. These books may be borrowed by Comsewogue Public Library cardholders only.

New Website of the Month! - Twisty Noodle

When it's cold outside, are you looking for something to do inside? At Twisty Noodle, there are thousands of coloring pages, fun sheets to practice handwriting and mini-books to make!

You and your family can choose from categories such as animals, colors, food, holiday, music, nature or sports. Then pick a page, print it out and start the coloring fun.

In November, you can color a 'Gobble Gobble' page or make an 'I See a Turkey! Mini Book.'

Stop in and visit the Children's Department to celebrate Picture Book Month this November. Share a picture book with your child and borrow one from our display to share together at home. Children can also take a 'Color Your Own' Bookmark!

'Tis the Season to Donate to Toys for Tots!

You can help fulfill the holiday dreams of our nation's neediest children by donating new, unwrapped toys or books to the Toys for Tots campaign, sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps. A donation box will be located in the library lobby until the first week of December.
