Try the Animal InfoBooks for lots of details.  The Ecosystems InfoBooks have information about where animals live.  The Animal Bytes have one-page quick facts, and Shamu TV has short videos.  There are 39 Animal Sounds to hear, and frequently asked questions at Ask Shamu.

Calling All Artists!

Children and students through grade 12 are encouraged to enter our annual Bookmark Contest in honor of National Library Week (April 10-16).

Please submit your entry form and show your CPL card to a librarian at the Children's & Teen Services Desk by Thursday, March 31.

Free Dental Screening

In celebration of National Children's Dental Health Month in February, members of the Suffolk County Dental Society are hosting a special event at the Long Island Aquarium.  This event will take place on Saturday, February 6, 2016.  Children, ages 1-17 (w/a parent or legal guardian), will receive each of the following for FREE:

• Admission to the aquarium (plus one free adult admission per child)
• Children's dental screening, cleaning & fluoride treatment
• Goodie bag
• Dental sealants (if appropriate)
• Puppet show and dental health education throughout the day
• Lionel Train exposition
• Eligibility to enter the Tooth Fairy drawing contest
